Totally unplanned literary theme on Love Audrey this week.
As terrifying as it is to admit, Izzy is turning 8 at the end of this month. EIGHT! *Insert generic comment about how quickly they grow up.*
We decided to throw a little soiree for her and a few friends. After much deliberation, she settled on a story book theme.
Best. Party. Theme. Ever.
I immediately created a Pinterest Board. I gather it’s illegal to plan a party without one?

These invitations showcase the full extent of my craft ‘skills’. Cutting, sticking and, if I’m feeling bold, a bit of stamp action. They were hurriedly assembled late one Thursday evening when I finally realised the party would be somewhat devoid of revellers if I didn’t get on with it. They took about 30 minutes.
When I tweeted a sneaky peek at the time, a few people expressed an interest in how I made them. Here follows all you need to know should you wish to re-create something similar…
I used postcards from a set of 100 Classic Ladybird Covers. Obviously it contains far more than I need, but I have other uses in mind for the 92 leftover. I used some scrap white card to cover the wording on the back.
I created the cards on the reverse using a Personal Library Kit. I had so much fun with the date stamp I fear I may have missed my true calling in life. My intention is to set up a ‘play library’ for Jesse with the remaining cards.
After hand writing the relevant info on the library card and sandwiching it all together with a generous coating of glue, they were good to go.
Izzy loved them, and the Mums in the playground looked suitably jealous as they were handed out 😉
Love Audrey xxx

This party is going to be fabulous Frankie, the sort of party I would have loved age 8! Looking forward to seeing the pics.
Thanks Helen! My task for today is to order all the decorations and partyware 🙂

Sorry for any awful spelling mistakes, 1 handed typing with a 2yr old shaped head as a visual impairment!
Those are lovely and so original! Hope the party goes with a swing!
These are fabulous! I’m going to ‘borrow’ this (ahem) x
These are fantastic, I would have loved them as a kid! Will be stealing this idea in case I ever need to throw a party for an eight year old! 😉
