Earlier this week I ran out of the Lancome Hydra Zen Neurocalm eye cream I’ve been using. As I’m surviving on minimal sleep at the moment this is one product I really can’t live without. I’ve tried a lot of different eye creams over the years, both high-end and drugstore brands, and I have to admit this is the first one I’ve ever decided to repurchase. I feel that applying this twice a day has made a visible difference to my dark circles and puffiness. My eyes look more hydrated (and the skin around my eyes is very prone to dehydration) and some irritating fine lines have been reduced (they’ve not vanished but I have to peer VERY closely at my reflection to make them out). This has a lovely light texture and sinks in to the skin very quickly. My only criticism of this product is the packaging. The pump applicator doesn’t allow you to get the last traces of cream out of the bottle. I ended up cracking the top off to make sure I was getting my moneys worth by using up every last drop!

Colour Fever Gloss in 330 ‘City Pink’ (swatch taken from Lancome website)

While I was at the Lancome counter I also decided to pick up another one of my favourite Colour Fever lipglosses. I chose this lovely pink shade as I don’t think I have anything similar in my collection already. I can’t rave about these glosses enough, I love them. They’re not too sticky and the diamond shaped applicator is great for easy application.

The lady on the counter was lovely and remembered me from when I was pregnant. She gave me loads of samples and also showed me the new(ish) Genfique Youth Activating Concentrate. According to the Lancome website this product can instantly make skin feel ‘silky soft, smooth and supple. Drop by drop, day and night, skin appears breathtakingly beautiful, radiant, even-toned and more refined. Skin looks noticeably younger, as if infused with life’. I tried some on the back of my hand and I have to admit that my skin did feel silky soft and looked much brighter in comparison to my other hand. I kept stroking my hand while I was on the way to pick my daughter up and I have to admit I’m quite tempted. However, it’s £52 a bottle and she didn’t have any samples that I could try. I can’t make a purchase like that without some careful consideration so I’ll be reading every review I can find!

I’m really loving this brand at the moment… and I got masses of points on my Boots card too, which is always nice!
