Aaaaaages ago I noted my interest in a new collection of make-up brushes by Revlon. I had spotted them in Superdrug and was determined to go back and have a closer look. Well, I finally did and I believe I may have discovered a gem!

The ‘contour shadow brush’ was the only item that caught my eye (no pun intended). It retails for £7.99 but was reduced as part of a promotion so I only paid £5.99 for this beauty. The fibres are lovely and soft and hold their shape well. So far I haven’t experienced any shedding. I also like the shape and length of the glossy black handle.

I’ve been using the contour brush everyday, not only to apply e/s to my crease but also to apply an all over wash of colour. The fluffy but firm bristles make light work of this. The fabulous thing about this brush is that it bares a striking resemblance to the MAC 217. Pictured above is my well used (and a little bit grubby) MAC 217SE alongside the Revlon brush. They’re brush twins, no? If the 217, which is priced at £14.50, seems a little beyond your financial reach at the moment I’d really recommend taking a peek at this one. It really is a high quality budget brush.
