When you’re planning a wedding, crossing the big things {venue, dress, photographer etc} off your ‘To Do’ list feels great.
But it’s the little things that get me really excited. Especially the little things that require online shopping and the subsequent receipt of multiple packages.
Oh yes, wedding planning may have taken a backseat while I put myself through hell finished my MA, but I still managed to accumulate a veritable stash of wedding bounty. While I build myself up/summon the strength for a few of the DIY projects these items are destined for, it’s all being stored in my vintage suitcase. Each time I crave a quick fix of weddingness, I need only lift the lid of the battered old case and I can breath in all the anticipation and excitement it contains.
Our guests will sip their welcome cocktails through the striped grey stores {purchased from Papermash} while they snack on canapes after the ceremony. The mini chalk boards {Calico Crafts}will be used to label the baked goods at our cake buffet. The luggage tags and the grey bakers twine {both Ebay finds} will eventually be transformed into place names for our guests at the wedding breakfast {inspired by this wedding, the bride from which blogs here}. I’m yet to buy the set of alphabet stamps required to emblazon them with the names of all our guests. I dread to think how long it’ll take me to make just over 100 of them!
Tucked away, just hidden from view, there’s also a kraft square scrapbook from Paperchase, which I plan to tart up a little and use as our guest book. Currently toying with the idea of adhering a small sign from Vicky Trainor’s The Vintage Draw collection. I think ‘love notes’ would work well, don’t you?
Anyway, I’m rambling. I guess I’m just excited that, with less than 4 months to go to the big day {eeek!} and my studies finally over, I can now throw myself into the many wedding tasks that lie ahead.
What do you think of all these bits and bobs? Did you enjoy the little things while planning your wedding?

I may have the exact straws in abundance too. They never quite made it out of their boxes. Gah!
I love drinking from them now!
(Oh and once you get into a rhythm of printing – it’s speedy! Just have everything to hand!)
I am so excited for you reading this. I did everything myself for my wedding with no help – oh my goodness the hours i spent making invites to realize they were wrong and i had to do them again!!! I also remember sorting through a duck feather pillow picking out hundreds of white feathers from the brown ones because it would save me money!!! I loved the planning and creating my wedding scrap book, but the actual doing the bits? no i didn’t!! The day was lovely though and i was proud that all the hard work was just by me xx
i think your wedding is going to be beautiful, such pretty sounding details. Especially the wedding breakfast! I loved helping my sister plan hers and all the tiny details were definitley the best bit, they help each bride have their own individual stamp on the day 🙂

The little things are often the most exciting. I think the best weddings are made up of a happy, in love couple, and attention to the smallest of details, which just goes to show how much they care 🙂 xxx
