Our evening invitations were something of an afterthought on my part. Not the guests themselves of course, just the means by which to solicit their attendance.
There were but a few weeks to go until the great invitation exodus was due to commence when I placed an order with Leah of Golden Apple Designs.
Leah and I first met at the Love My Dress Soiree back in August. From what I remember {I’d had a few mojitos} we spent some time giggling together while we queued patiently for our turn in the Snaparazzi photo booth. Leah was wearing the most fabulous frock from Oh My Honey and I remember thinking how stylish she looked.
Upon my return home, I took a peek at her website and was instantly drawn to the art deco fonts and exquisite illustration used on her Leaves design.
After exchanging a few emails about colours and text, Leah produced a digital proof for us before finally crafting the invitations, complete with glamorous ribbons. They arrived just in time for my self-imposed mailing deadline.
We decided to use the pink and grey from our colour scheme and Leah mirrored the ivory card stock used in our main invitations with her choice of envelope. We also opted for a postcard style RSVP. I can’t wait for these to start arriving on our doormat!
Wanna see?
Behold the pretty…
I quite enjoyed stroking the beautiful card stock before I slipped them into their smart envelopes, I really did.
So, here ends the tale of our wedding invitations.
I’m not going to lie, I’m a little sad I no longer have an excuse for googling paper goods all day or pouring over images of beautiful stationery now this task has been well and truly crossed of the {rather lengthy} wedding ‘to do’ list.
Still, there’s always the order of service to think about.
Oh, and the menus.
And I’m sure I can find some other ingenious ways to sneak more pretty paper into our day…

These really work well alongside your daytime invites. Everything is so beautifully co-ordinated. I absolutely love the retro/movie vibe they evoke. *sigh* I want to get married again (to the same man “obviously” ??!! tee hee 😀 xx
@ThePamperedSparrow Thank you, I like how they’re different but they still ‘go’ if you know what I mean. They’re a little more relaxed than the daytime invites, which is just right for the evening I think.
Haha! How about a vow renewal?! You would definitely need invitations for that 😉

They are gorgeous – very Audrey!!
I got married in Jan, let me share this with you:
Married when the year is new, he’ll be loving, kind and true.
When February birds do mate, You wed nor dread your fate.
If you wed when March winds blow, joy and sorrow both you’ll know.
Marry in April when you can, Joy for Maiden and for Man.
Marry in the month of May, and you’ll surely rue the day.
Marry when June roses grow, over land and sea you’ll go.
Those who in July do wed, must labour for their daily bred.
Whoever wed in August be, many a change is sure to see
Marry in September’s shrine, your living will be rich and fine.
If in October you do marry, love will come but riches tarry.
If you wed in bleak November, only joys will come, remember.
When December snows fall fast, marry and true love will last.
Your day invites are truly a work of amazingness!! I LOVE THEM! these are also pretty!
I’ve just started planning my wedding, it’ll be in Feb ’13… and I am slowly becoming overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things that hadn’t even occurred to me! Your wedding posts are giving me lots of inspiration, and if you can plan whilst looking after your lovely little ones and doing a dissertation then I’m sure I can do it! I even contemplated Brighton Pier as a venue…! xx
Love them, and now having seen the main invitations, I think they tie in perfectly, but they didn’t give too much away (given that I saw my Mums before I saw my own!).
Perfection…and yes, PLENTY more excuses for paper. Just no napkins, aye 😉 xxx
Well, I think they are lovely, a beautiful keepsake for your guests too.
I do hope you can find more excuses for perusing paper sites, it’s so exciting. Do you sniff? 🙂 hehe, I do.
Oh and having read Lissylou’s rhyme, I was married in May, 30 years ago just to prove the exception.
These are lovely. The 1920’s reminiscent font is so glamorous.
@Lissylou Oh I love the rhyme! Thank you so much for sharing.
@Belle du Brighton A 2013 wedding, how exciting! It can be very overwhelming but now that we’ve only a couple of months to go I can assure you that it does all start to fall into place eventually! I’ve seen some beautiful Brighton weddings on various blogs, I’ll have to find the links for you.
@Laura Aaaagh, don’t use the ‘n’ word!! 😉
So glad you like them and yes, plenty more paper!
@Linda I’m defintely a sniffer and a stroker! Haha, I just love paper!
@Simone Thank you. I was drawn to the art deco style font too, so pretty 🙂
