- Waking up very slowly, with multiple cups of tea and snuggles on the sofa with the children.
- Eating omelets for breakfast.
- Enjoying a long shower with some new REN products I recently purchased. Loving their Neroli and Grapefruit body wash.
- Wearing MAC Dame blush. I’ve been making a concerted effort to switch up my cheek products recently after finding myself in something of a NARS Sin rut {which is not exactly a bad rut to be in, it’s a beautiful blush, but I hate the thought of all those unloved products gathering dust in my makeup box}. As soon as I swirled my brush in this pot on Saturday I was reminded just how pretty it looks on my pale skin.
- Remembering how fantastic Lily Lolo mineral foundation is.
- Packing Izzy off to Crealy Adventure Park with a friend.
- Having a very lazy day. There was endless cups of tea, a bit of pottering around the house and a leisurely stroll around town to show Jesse the recently installed Christmas lights.
- Indulging in an ESPA facial. My skin has been screaming out for some TLC and, as we’re well and truly into the wedding count down now {7 weeks to go!}, I was very relived to see the post-facial glow.
- Cooking and eating sweet onion fritatta, a really easy, and very cheap, supper that proved popular with the children.
- Settling down for an evening of wedding DIY, in front of a DVD and with a {very large} glass of wine in hand.
- Letting Mr. LA have a lie in.
- Bubbling with pride at the sight of Izzy playing the Angry Pixie from The Faraway Tree in her drama class’s end of term show.
- Treating the little actress to some chocolate cake after the performance.
- Enjoying some peace and quiet while Jesse napped and Izzy was at a birthday party.
- Day dreaming about Christmas. I can’t wait to get our tree up and adorn the whole house with decorations.
- Craving mulled wine.
- Taking Jesse for a walk. The sun was just beginning to set as we headed out and the light was beautiful, bathing everything it touched in gold.
- Marvelling at just how much joy a 2 year old can derive from walking along the top of a wall.
- Picking Izzy up from the party, painted face and all.
- Eating mince pies.
- Enjoying the ritual of cooking Sunday dinner. I find the whole process deeply comforting.
- Filling the house with the scent of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg as I prepared spiced apple shortcake for pudding.
- Making peace with someone close to me. Sometimes doing the right thing is the hardest thing in the world.
- Kissing the children goodnight.
- Sipping hot chocolate.
- Snuggling on the sofa with Mr. LA in front of ‘Shaun of the Dead’. I <3 Simon Pegg.
- Tumbling into bed and falling straight to sleep.

love the angry pixie!!!
Awww! I loved the Magic Faraway Tree as a child! It looks like you have quite the budding actress in your midst 😉
Oh my! Only 7 weeks to your wedding, time is flying by isn’t it. I feel like I’m along on the wedding journey with you…..and it’s WONDERFUL!
I’m Feeling so excited for you 😀 xx
As always a brilliant post….I agree that Izzy seems quite the young actress and I think that more Enid Blyton should be encouraged in all children!
I too feel like we’re getting a true insight to the run up to your wedding….getting excited for you too! I agree that lots of pampering of yourself in the run up to be on target gorgeous for the big day itself. Not that you need that much help!
I’m the same with blushers, in that I own loads of them, but tend to stick with one or two…I think thats the case with most make-up products though!
Finally, I <3 Simon Pegg too....I've a long established crush on him! Nothing like a guy that can make you laugh!
@Shadow Aw thank you, they’re among my favourite posts to write, and I love reading back through old ones too. They’re like my online journal of the last 3 yrs! The time really is flying, can’t believe I’m going to be a bride so soon!
@Lissy Lou She was brilliant, so proud!
@The Pampered Sparrow We certainly do, she dreams of being an actress one day… or maybe a rock star, she can’t quite make up her mind! I love that I can share all my wedding plans with all the people that stop my blog. It’s so nice to know people share my excitement 😀
@confusedbrit She’s a BIG Blyton fan you’ll be pleased to hear! Malory Towers, famous 5, she loves them all. Ahhhh Simon Pegg *sigh* he’s delicious, isn’t he?!!

I love how you cook such wholesome food for your family! X
@Anonymous Girl So lovely to have a comment from you. I had begun to think that perhaps you had stopped reading. I hope you and the little man are well? Although, I suppose he may not be quite so little anymore!
