- Waking up slowly. I was very relieved when the weekend rolled around after another full on week. On Wednesday I made a trip to London for an amazing party hosted by Temple Gregory {you can read a full write up and see some pics of me in my frock here. The little blue dress strikes again!}. After burning the candle at both ends I was very much in need of the extra duvet time only a Saturday morning can afford.
- Cooking and eating bacon, egg and toast cups. This has to be my new favourite breakfast, delicious!
- Stealing myself away to the salon for a facial and pedicure. It was quite lovely to be able to relax for a couple of hours.
- Eating a lazy lunch of beans on toast.
- Applying some makeup and curling my hair.
- Wandering round the Crikey it’s Vintage Fair with Izzy. I was having far too much fun to take any photos, so you’ll have to trust me when I say it was packed full of vintage and handmade treasures. We tried on hats, daydreamed about buying a beautiful tea set and enjoyed every second of the fashion show.
- Giggling as Izzy tried to get to grips with an enormous stick of candy floss.
- Heading home empty handed. I could have spent a fortune you understand, if only I had one to spend.
- Wishing I had the money for a much needed cut and colour. My hair is crying out for some TLC.
- Baking a loaf of lemon drizzle cake. We ate it while it was still warm. Heavenly.
- Enjoying chicken ramen and multiple servings of vodka and cranberry juice.
- Watching ‘Atonement’ with my husband. We were left feeling a little underwhelmed by the film, but I loved the period detail and Keira Knightley’s costumes {oh that green dress!}.
- Tumbling into bed.
- Sleeping in.
- Lazing in my pyjamas. It’s what Sunday mornings are made for.
- Hiding an eye infection behind large cat-eye sunglasses.
- Strolling in the sunshine.
- Licking an ice lolly.
- Enjoying some peace and quiet while the children were at the park.
- Mixing up the batter for marmalade pudding cake.
- Battling with the children over tidying toys away.
- Fixing Sunday dinner. Pie, roast potatoes {eventually, had to send Mr.LA on a spud run when I realised we all out}, leeks, carrots, peas, Yorkshire puddings and plenty of gravy.
- Chuckling at the children’s enthusiasm for custard {or cake gravy as they call it}.
- Loosing track of time.
- Rushing the children into bed.
- Having a rare productive hour. I did washing, ordered groceries… all the mundane but essential tasks I normally avoid on a Sunday evening.
- Working my way through a bag of Haribo Tangfastic as I blog.
- Looking forward to settling down on the sofa with my husband.

Sounds like a perfect weekend, love the look of that breakfast! x
It’s delicious and very, very easy. Give it a try 🙂 xxx
The only reason I love Sundays is your wonderful blog xxxx
What a wonderful comment, so very kind of you Rasha. Glad you enjoy these posts as they’re my favourite to write. xxx
For months now I’ve been living vicariously through your baking and cooking reports on a Sunday night 🙂 I finally had the time and space this weekend to launch into my recipe books again, such a relief! So, geeky baker question #1- where do you get the loaf tray liners? Thanks! Hx
Yay for weekend baking! So pleased you have the time to get back in the kitchen, it’s such great therapy! The liners are from Lakeland. They’re pretty life changing if you love baking loaf cakes as much as I do. xxx
Thank you! I’m aware the novelty might wear off, but planning meals and things to bake is so enjoyable right now. Feel like I spent the last six months at least just scraping by with whatever was to hand. x
Those bacon and eggs cups look scrummy! Do you have a good lemon drizzle cake recipe (ie idiot proof for me?) I can do banana loaf, but looking to extend the loaf tin repetoire
xxx
Sounds like you had a lovely scrummy weekend! This post has made me so hungry! XxxX http://thesecondhandrose.blogspot.com/
Looks like it was filled with food and that’s how weekends should be 🙂
