I absolutely adore the colour purple. Purple dresses, purple tops, purple shoes, purple bags… if it’s purple I want it (not all at the same time obviously)! But my real weakness is purple eye shadow. My eyes are a rather blaaaa shade of mushy-grey-green, if you’re being polite you might describe them as Hazel. However, when I wear purple on my eyes, they look a lot greener.

My Favourite Purples:

• MAC stars ‘n’ rockets – Described as ‘dirty lavender with red/pink reflects’, this eye shadow is soooooo beautiful. I can’t believe I waited so long to purchase it! I love to wear this under my lower lash line with Aquavert on the lid and Smoke and Diamonds in the Crease (a look inspired by Natalya).
• MAC Lotusland – This eye shadow came out last year as part of the Starflash collection. I really like the texture of these shadows, although I find I need a good base under this to make the colour really vibrant.
• MAC Satellite Dreams – I received this ‘deep dirty plum with violet/blue reflects’ eye shadow in a swap last year. I love to use it in a smokey eye look as it’s a bit more interesting than the usual black or grey.
• Estee Lauder Double Wear Shadow Creme in 10 Lilac Petals – Part of the recent Estee Lauder release of creme shadows, this is one of three shades I picked up. They are very similar to MAC paint pots, they apply really easily (I quite often just use my fingers) and last really well. I often use this shade as a base under Lotusland.
• MAC violet pigment (not pictured) – My favourite way to use this is to spray my MAC 209 brush with fix+ and use the pigment as a liner.
• Barry M Kohl Pencil no.18 – This is a gorgeous shade of purple and these pencils are lovely and creamy.
• Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil in 1999 – This is more of a plum than a true purple. I adore the sparkle this has in it and these pencils have fantastic staying power and are very blendable.

I also love purple nail polish and there are three in particular that I’m really loving at the moment.

2. Nails Inc. ‘Kings Road’
3. OPI ‘Done Out In Deco’

I’m finding myself quite drawn to the idea of a purplish lip too! I wasn’t brave enough to try MAC’s ‘Lavender Whip’, I thought it was a bit pale for me, but I’m very tempted by ‘Up The Amp’ as well as ‘Purple Rite’ (3rd from the left below) which is due out in the upcoming Style Warrior collection.
