Apparently ‘there’s a style battle on the horizon as two new figures of fashion emerge to tempt us into sartorial transfiguration’. Riiiight.
But, it did get me thinking about the way I dress. I’m definitely more comfortable in what Vogue considers ‘vamp’ clothing… ‘red lips, Lauren Bacall hair, body-skimming skirt suits, fierce heels and balconetted bras’. I don’t think I can carry off the tomboy look at all. In my mind, I associate it with casual dressing and, given a choice, I’d always rather dress up as opposed to down. My sister on the other hand makes tomboy… ‘all disheveled hair and nonchalant posing, with a taste for mini lengths, moody shades, leather jackets and jutting hips’… look effortlessly sexy and cool.
Either way, Vogue makes it clear that this Autumn/Winter all tastes will be catered for.
