The shops in London were absolutely heaving on Saturday. I braved the crowds and managed to pick up a few goodies.

I finally got my hands on the Shu eyelash curlers.

First impressions: they are amaaaaazing.

Well worth the splurge in my opinion. They give such a natural looking curl and they don’t seem to tug at my lashes like my cheapy No. 7 ones did. I also picked up a blush in P Pink 30. I adore this… so smooth, so pigmented. It imparts a beautiful natural glow that can be built up to something more striking if desired. I want more!

I can definitely see this brand becoming my new addiction… 2010 will be the year of the Shu.

I also purchased my first Essie nail varnish. Ages ago, I read somewhere that this shade, ‘Fishnet Stockings’, is a favourite of Dita Von Teese. I’ve been lusting after it ever since! I’ve not had a chance to try this out yet so I can only hope that I love the formulation as much as the colour.

I did manage to get some new skinny jeans too. A lovely indigo denim pair from Diesel. They’re a Christmas present from my Mum so I don’t actually have them in my possession yet. I also braved the insanity that was Hamleys toy store 2 weeks before Christmas to get some gifts for the children. Unfortunately, I couldn’t satisfy my daughter’s yearning for a Ken doll. It seems Barbie is currently single.

The tacky postcard is for the fridge. Mr. LA (who isn’t from London and does not share my love for the big smoke) noted that the suburb I grew up in is notably absent from the collection of great London landmarks pictured.
