I finally managed to take some decent pictures of the wonderful gifts my mum surprised me with at Christmas. As she had bought me a fabulous pair of Diesel jeans while we were in London she wasn’t technically supposed to get me anything else, so these were a real treat.

I believe my mum and sister visited the new(ish) Shu Uemura store in Brighton and, from what I can gather, they received fabulous service. Apparently the sales girl allowed them to use the instore computer to check the wish list on my blog!! In addition to the wonderful items they picked out for me, my gift bag was also packed full of generous samples, including some of the cult Shu cleansing oil which I can’t wait to try.

My sister knew that I had been lusting after the purple Painting Liner so that was the first thing they picked out for me. I really, really like this product. The colour is so vibrant. I’ve worn this alone, as an alternative to my usual black winged eye-liner, and received numerous compliments. It also works well blended out like a cream e/s. It is truly fabulous worn on the lower waterline as a standout flash of colour in an otherwise neutral or smokey look. This applies like a dream and it has some serious staying power too.
Having learned of my love for the colour purple, the SA recommended a stunning pair of false lashes. I think I squealed when I opened these! They are the Mini Indigo lashes and, as I hope you can see from the image below, they have the most amazing flashes of purple/blue in them. Unfortunately, I haven’t had an opportunity to wear these yet… perhaps I’ll get a chance to try them out on Valentines Day. My mum also picked up some of their lash adhesive which, by all accounts, is some of the best around.
And so continues my Shu Uemura love affair. There are a few other items that I’m keen to have a closer look at and I’ve seen some fabulous and incredibly tempting swatches from the spring collection. In fact, I must update my wish list just in case any family or friends find themselves in a Shu store any time soon!
