Ooooops! Bit late posting these this month. Still, it’s a bank jollyday… I’m allowed to be lazy!

April has been a fabulous month. The amazing weather (that has momentarily disappeared) filled me with massive amounts of positivity and glee. Wearing sandals for the first time in nearly a year will do that to a girl!

It’s kind of hard to believe it’s May though. Jesse’s 1st Birthday is only 6 weeks away… which means my blogs 1st anniversary is even closer! I can remember when, heavily pregnant and filled with trepidation, I uploaded my first blog post, and here I am now with almost 80 followers! I honestly can’t imagine life without blogging now, I love it!

A sprinkling of the things that have been making me smile this month…

  • Lisa Elridge’s YouTube channel. Seriously good and incredibly inspiring. I found her skincare videos particularly helpful. It’s as if she describes my skin exactly and her product suggestions have been very useful, especially in the aftermath of my Shu Uemura cleansing oil disaster. Which leads me to…
  • Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant. Lisa’s comments about exfoliating really struck a chord. I have come to realise that my skin really needs some TLC and that a gentle approach to cleansing and exfoliating is essential. I was very wary of trying this product as I had an awful experience with Dermalogica skincare while I was pregnant but I’m pleased to announce that I think this product is amaaaazing. It leaves my skin baby soft and so, so smooth, all without any harsh scratchy scrubbers. The active ingredient is Lactic Acid which is a gentle, yet very effective, alpha hydroxy acid or AHA. Despite the fact that I’ve always loved a super scrubby scrub this product has totally converted me to grain-free exfoliating.
  • Izzy’s pink converse high-tops. Too cool for words!
  • Giving this bag an airing. It still makes me smile every time I look at it!
  • The way Jesse has taken to imitating me talking on the phone. He picks up random objects, hold them to his ear and babbles away. It’s very, very cute. I really must catch it on film one day soon.
  • The Sleek Storm palette. An oldie but a goody! I bought this last Autumn and I definitely considered the shades to be more cold, grey blustery day appropriate. Well, gee, it’s actually been my go-to palette during all the sunny weather we’ve had recently. I’ve created many pretty, shimmery looks with it this month. The gold eye-shadows teamed with coral lips has become something of a signature look for me in April.
  • MAC Ever Hip lipstick. Aaaaaaaah… where have you been all my life. Simply perfect… especially when worn with (yep, you guessed it) ….
  • Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss in Coral Reef. I might stop talking about this lip product eventually. Then again, I might not.
  • Lush Figs and Leaves Soap. I’ve been working my way through a luscious chunk of this soap over the last month and my love for it has been rekindled. It’s so creamy and yummy… chock full of fresh mashed organic figs and lashings of aloe vera. It’s as if my skin thanks me every time I use it, it feels so amazing! I’m quite partial to the smell too.
