Going Up….
- Wonderful, lovely, friendly bloggers. You all know who you are. I can’t put into words just how much your cheerful, kind and supportive comments brighten my day.
- Lush Stepping Stone. I’m crazy in love with this solid foot scrub. For starters, any foot product that DOESN’T smell of peppermint is going to win a place in my heart as the scent makes me wretch (yep, even toothpaste… every run-in I have with a toothbrush is traumatic). This smells deliciously fruity and zesty (it’s the same fragrance as the You’ve Been Mangoed bath melt which is another long standing bath time staple of mine) and gives a lovely scrub too. I’ve found the easiest way to use this is to break of a teeny tiny chunk and scrub away. It fizzes a little when it gets wet and leaves my feet feeling really smooth and soft when I’m done. Last night I smothered my feet in Burts Bees Coconut Foot Cream after I used this and then slept in some cotton socks and my feet are now definitely sandal-ready!
- My Chanel Nouvelle Vague pedicure. Love.
- The fact Jesse can say his big sisters name. Cutest. Thing. Ever. As soon as she wakes up in the morning he cracks this enormous grin and starts shouting ‘Izzzzy, Izzzzy’. I’m counting on a ‘Mummy’ any day now.
- Double Decker and a glass of wine.
- The prospect of a lovely weekend. We have some friends visiting from the midlands. They’re expecting their first child and I’m really looking forward to talking baby with the mum-to-be all weekend!
- Lipstick. Namely Chanel Genial and MAC Ever Hip.
- Planning Jesse’s 1st birthday partaaaay! I’m really looking forward to seeing all our friends and eating (egg-free) cake while all the children run around like crazy things!
Going Down…
- Breaking in new sandals. Thankfully no cuts or blisters but my feet ache. It’s gotta be done though, hasn’t it?
- Grumpy, rude customers at work. Seriously, manners cost nothing.
- How badly I need a haircut.
- Running out of numerous products at the same time. I used up a can of hairspray, my shampoo and conditioner, facial moisturiser, my facial serum and a bottle of nail polish remover all within days.
- Being skint! I’ve had an expensive month having to fork out for boring but essential things (a replacement passport for me and Jesse’s first, school dinners for Izzy, deposit for Jesse’s nursery place… yea, I said boring) and payday seems a long way off right now. Don’t you just hate it when there is too much month left at the end of the money?

Argh, I hate rude customers, too – that was definitely the downside of working at MAC, some of the people I had to put up with were horrendous.
Aww, that is so cute about Jesse, I hope he says Mummy soon 🙂 My friends little boy has just started and it melts my heart 🙂
Where do you work, if you don’t mind me asking…is it retail? I always hate rude people…I know I’ve gotten stroppy with customer service advisor’s before, but normally because they are rude to me, haha!
Skint…talk about skint, I’m sooooooooooooooo poor it’s unbelievable 🙁 I LOVE what you said at the end there, too much month at the end of the money, here here…!!! xxx
I have to use my Lush sugar scrub some time soon, but I’m kind of scared, it looks super messy! Awww, I can just picture Jesse saying his sister’s name, must be sooo cute 🙂 xxx
Ooh think I’m going to have to try some Lush products just based on your reviews!
I used to hate the rude customers at work too, why oh why do they have to be that way? Treat others how you want to be treated yourself, people it isn’t hard.
Grin and bear it 🙂

i love your going up list!! it is just too cute. my daughter just learned how to say thank you and that is officially her response to EVERYTHING. 🙂
i hope the rest of your week is swell!
ps. i love the entry below this one (with your make up). that eyeshadow is perfect on you! and i like your hair. ♥
I enjoyed reading this. I am close to receiving my sociology degree and all!
Firstly, I have to say how much I love your blog. I just discovered it recently and spent a good amount of time reading loads of old posts too. Very enjoyable reading 🙂
Secondly, rude customers are a pain! We had incident couple days ago, when a guy managed to make my colleague cry and upset another pregnant girl. And managers know him, he has come to us to upset people previously! He must get some joy from it.. But at least there are some super nice people too, who cheer up the whole day 🙂

I’m with you on the Double Decker and wine! Congrats on Jesse talking, that’s brill!xx
PS: Why haven’t you got way more followers. Your blog is great! I love the retro pics you post x
@Cafe Bellini I think it’s the downside of any job in retail TBH!! I bet there were some nice perks working in MAC though!!
@Laura Yup, retail. I would say I have even higher expectations of customer service than most ‘normal’ people as I spend so much of my time being nice to customers so I hate it when an SA clearly makes no effort with me! I’ve worked in shops or restaurants since I was 14 so I should be used to it by now I guess but sometimes it still winds me up!
@Rocaille the sugar scrubs can be messy but I store mine in an old empty Lush pot and that seems to help. Lovely soft skin means it’s worth the hassle.

@Shadow Oh you must try some Lush!! They have plenty of lovely things to pamper yourself with!
@RMb Thank you for the compliment! Your little one sounds adorable!
@Imo Glad you enjoyed! Good luck finishing your degree!!
@Mari Aaaah thank you for your kind words. I’m glad you enjoy reading my ramblings!! That chap sounds awful but you’re right, one nice customer can make up for all the grotty ones!
@Lauren Another Double Decker fan, excellent. they don’t get enough love IMO!!
And there’s me thinking that at nearly 100 followers I’ve got loads!! Glad you enjoy reading my blog and thanks so much for commenting.
