Clearly I have a thing for photographing Jesse in various states of disarray. What can I say? I think he’s even cuter smeared in fromage frais!
I *think* we had a ‘mama’ this morning. Not a random babble, but a genuine look at me, say mama and crawl over for a shnuggle. Yes, my heart melted. And yes, I spent the rest of today trying to get a repeat performance.
We also had a definite ‘narnar‘ directed towards the fruit bowl (which was devoid of bananas at the time but we’ll just brush over that detail). I’d forgotten how little ones tend say nothing for absolutely ages and then have a little flurry of linguistic development. I really love this stage. It’s such a rewarding time and it reveals just how important communication is to us human beings.

Aaaw, co cute 🙂 Unfortunately, my parents don’t remember my first word, but I was notorious for mixing up idioms when I was little. According to my professor who specializes in bilingualism, it was a proof of linguistic creativity and a gift for languages 😉 xxx
Awwwww, go Jesse, say it again! My friends little boy is at a really talkative stage, and it just melts my heart listening to him and talking to him! I can’t wait for my baby and all the ‘baby stuff’, but I do love the starting to talk stage too 🙂
He is SUCH a little cutie too 🙂
My parents like to regale me with stories of my talking, apparently on car journeys I’d babble away in my baby language, then randomly say really long/hard words…so it’d be like “go go ga ga pylon ga ga” or something!

oh what a cute picture! my daughter is finally saying words (sort of) clearly enough so that she doesn’t have to point to what she means for me to understand her. i’m so so excited about this!
hehe, gotta love these mommy moments. your children are beautiful! 🙂
@Rocaille That’s fascinating about your early language skills. I have nothing but admiration for those that manage to master more than just their 1st language. I was a disaster at foreign languages at school.
@Laura I think every set of milestones is adorabel to be honest but there is something so special about being to finally communicate with your litte one. Of course… the fact they can tell you what’s wrong means they cry less too!
That story made me laugh out loud. You must have been such a sweet baby!!
@RMb I’m so excited for your daughter too. The next stage will be talking so people other than mummy and daddy can understand… I remember acting as an interpretor for Izzy for quite a while! Especially for Grandparents who struggled to hear her, let alone understand her baby talk!!
