Am I alone in dreaming of looking as stylish in-flight as the celebs do? I mean, just look at them.
Members of the ‘A’ list always seem to step of a plane looking polished, put together and comfortable (unless your name is Victoria Beckham, in which case you wear 6 inch heels while flying with 3 children… crazy!). They just seem to ooze casual glamour, a state of dress that is near impossible for most of us mere mortals to achieve, especially after 16 hrs in economy with 2 children to attend to.

White vest and stripey top: H&M, grey skinny jeans, tan strappy sandals and silver necklace: Topshop, tan leather cross body bag: Oasis.Well, I may not be as stylish as the jet-set celebs but comfy I can do!
For me, it’s layers that are the key to travelling in comfort. These tops from H&M are perfect, the stripy one is super slouchy and soft and I love the pairing of this pale nude colour with the grey of my jeans. If it’s too hot once we land then I can always peel it off and travel to the hotel in just the vest and my rolled up skinnies. I’ll also carry my All Saints pirate cardigan which will add an extra layer of warmth, I always seem get chilly once we’re aboard the plane.
Like most All Saints items, this cardigan wasn’t cheap, but it’s proven to be a brilliant investment as I wear it all the time. There are so many different ways you can tie it or button it up, it’s really soft (it’s 70% wool, 30% silk) and keeps you incredibly warm. For the purposes of flying it acts like a pashmina or wrap, I can even sit a child on my lap and cover us both with it like a blanket. Much nicer than the scratchy polyester things the cabin crew give you!
The skinny jeans I’ve chosen are very skinny but they’re also very, very stretchy making them the most comfortable jeans I own. I always travel in sandals as my feet tend to swell after take-off. I do make sure to pack some snuggly socks in my carry-on luggage just in case my feet get cold. I picked these up in Topshop last summer and I adore them, they look great with a bright coral pedicure.
My new tan leather bag is perfect for holding everything I need for the flight. It’s got tons of pockets and the fact it can be worn across the body is fabulous, it means I can balance a baby on my hip, hold hands with my eldest and not have to worry about constantly heaving my bulging bag back on to my shoulder.
The final touch will be a pair of sunnies which will be perfect for hiding my tired eyes once we land! So ladies, have I missed anything?Am I ready for take-off!?

I would say you are ready for take off! Love that outfit, looks really stylish but comfortable, appropriate for travel and looking after kiddies, and as you say, can be layered up or down depending on the temperature!
Now…any room in your suitcase for me? I’m not that big honest, if you can squeeze the bump in!

I’m pleased to see you’re a Pirate cardigan girl, my black one has been worn to death! Comfort has to come first on long flights, so if the jeans are very comfy then it’s all good.
I always take lip balm and face cleansing wipes on flights so I can freshen up before landing as long flights can be a bit bleurgh!
@Laura Oh honey I’d love to squeeze you in, think it might be a bit uncomfortable for you and nugget though! Anyway, I’m going to bore you so much with pictures when I get back that you’ll feel as if you were there with us all along!
@Anonymous Girl Ooooh, I really want a black one too. May invest come the autumn. In the past I’ve travelled in loose cotton trousers but I hate how creased they get so super comfy jeans are def the plan this time.
Lip balm is def an essential! I’ll be posting about my holiday beauty product must-haves very soon.

You are ready to go!! :))
I have the pirate cardi in black. Heads up it can get a tad bit itchy in heat but other than that it is a holiday essential cardy! PErfect for day and night!!! xoxox
I know what you mean, they never looked jet-lagged or anything. I suppose travelling in first class helps a bit but still…
This is perfect for flying, I always wear comfy skinny jeans and sandals, love that cardi as airplanes are freezing! x
The outfit is gorgeous. I’ve always loved been fascinated by the flying tips of the models etc. Wear cashmere, lots of layers, eight hour cream slapped on everywhere! These days, on a practical level it’s all about which colour shows up stains the least.
I love the cardi too. I have an All Saints cardigan that I got whilst pregnant last year and it’s had so much wear. I really ought to go back to their outlet at Bicester to see if I can spot any bargains.

i think it sounds like you’re totally ready! everything youve listed sounds perfect. little tip: drink lots of water on the flight & you’ll be less tired (and tired looking) when you land! 🙂
@Tali I can see I def need to pick this cardigan up in black! Thanks for the tip as well, you’re right it’s def a holiday essential!
@StyleFrost Glad you approve! I get soooooo cold when I travel, even in the airport lounges. The AC is too much for little old me!
@ModestyBrown Me too, it’s fascinating isn’t it! Lifestyles of the rich and famous hey! I wore this cardi loads when I was pregnant too, it’s just so snuggly. Good luck finding some All Saints bargains.
@RMb Thanks lovely! Great tip about the water too, I get so dehydrated when I fly.
