Lovely Lana Turner. What a killer dress, hey ladies? Izzy and I have spent a lot of time after school this week watching Ziegfeld Girl, a wonderful 1941 black and white movie starring Miss Turner, Hedy Lamarr and Judy Garland. It’s full of show-girls and incredibly lavish costumes. I’m a sucker for an old movie.

Mr. LA is knocking up a Thai green curry in the kitchen as I type. It smells delicious! My plans for this evening involve little more than eating loads of food and snuggling on the sofa with the boy. Hope fully I’ll be able to keep my eyes open long enough to sit through a movie.

My best friend (who I haven’t seen in about 6 months) is coming down from London tomorrow and I can hardly contain my excitement. The weekend will hopefully be filled with lots of delicious food, plenty of wine, a spot of shopping and a good old girly catch up. We’ll kick things off tomorrow with a picnic in the sunshine. My fridge is currently overflowing with food from my favourite local deli, I keep getting a whiff of the garlic salami every time I open the door! We’ve also got olives, dolmades (stuffed vine leaves, my favourite) and huge amounts of strawberries and melon. I can’t wait!

So ladies, what are your glamorous plans for this evening? What is your favourite old movie to curl up in front of and which glamorous star from Hollywood’s golden era do you adore?
