If I’ve managed to avoid being my usual technically inept self then this is being brought to you by the magic of scheduled posting. Although we don’t fly until Saturday evening our holiday has technically already begun as we’ve left our little house in Devon and escaped to my mother’s for one night before the 2 hour drive up to Heathrow tomorrow.

If I try and picture my future self as I write this, I expect I’m spending my Friday evening eating delicious food (my mum and my step-dad always put on a good spread) and slowly becoming more and more excited about the trip. I’m probably still feeling a little anxious about the long flight with the two children and wondering whether I’ve packed enough shoes (6 pairs) and dresses (I lost count). I hope I’m sensible enough to get an early night and to stop my mother from re-filing my wine glass too much, I’ve got a long day ahead of me tomorrow. Besides, I need lots of energy for my duty free shopping spree!
