I don’t think I’ve ever posted more than one photo for our end-of-the-week injection of glamour but but I think you’ll agree Ginger and this dress deserve it. Stunning! I’ve never actually seen Swing Time (the film from which these images originate). I really must add it to my never ending Amazon wish list, along with the latest Nigella cookbook that I’ve got my eye on!
My glamorous plans for this evening involve tucking the children up in bed before preparing a (hopefully) delicious meal for myself and Mr. LA. I’m doing Pasta Puttanesca, or ‘Tart’s Spaghetti’, which is one of my favourite Delia recipes (pg. 112 of her summer book). Mmmmmm…. I can’t wait! I’m sure we’ll polish off a few cheeky drinks too. I’ve got a bottle of Crabbies Alchoholic Ginger Beer chilling in the fridge which makes me feel like a rebellious member of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five!
As for the rest of the weekend, I’m hoping for some sunshine and a couple of long walks with the children, perhaps down by the river or along the coast. I’m also getting my hair done tomorrow morning. Finally! A restyle is very much overdue (hence the absence of FOTD posts from me recently)! Hopefully I’ll find time to bake something, I’m experiencing serious cake withdrawel symptoms!
Any glamorous plans for this evening and the weekend beyond? I do so love reading about what you’re all getting up to (nosey, moi?)!

That dress is so beautiful! My weekend will be similar to yours by the sounds of it (minus the coast – the Thames will have to suffice!) with the addition of my Mum coming to stay. Enjoy 🙂
That dress is gorgeous! I’m currently sitting with hair rollers in and no make up on so feel far from glamorous. I also love puttanesca, is that the one with capers in? have a lovely weekend! xxx
I want that dress. Your tart’s pasta sounds delish- it might be similar to the Jamie Oliver one of the same name which has tuna and olives in it.
I’m having lasagne tonight, while sitting in my dressing gown watching the England match. I’m solo as my husband is working at it (he’s a football journalist). He’ll probably come in at 1am later and I can’t sleep til I know he’s home safe!
Enjoy the hairdresser! If you have a new do you must post it. x
That dress is fabulous, wow…! Makes me feel proper frumpy!
Hope you enjoy your hairdressing session tomorrow honey, can’t wait to see snaps of the new ‘do’!
Glamour is VERY far away for me at the moment, it’s kinda hard to feel anything but a bedraggled, tired mess with leaky boobs etc (not that I would change it for a second, because then I wouldn’t have my gorgeous baby!)! I’ll live vicariously through you 🙂

the dress is gorgeous! (would make a lovely wedding dress 😉
I have a busy but lovely weekend…my eldest boys quad biking party tommorrow and then dinner with friends. And a vintage fair to visit on sunday and then a roast at my in laws.
Enjoy yours xx
Absolutely stunning dress! I’m having a very chilled weekend! Hope yours is lovely! x
that dress is gorgeous! good call posting it twice. my little brother is on leave so he came to visit me this weekend! it was great to see him (i really miss him). other than that we’re just relaxing. i’d love to see the pictures of your new hairdo!
@MissisG Oh how I long to be near the Thames! I miss London! Hope you have a fab weekend with your children!
@Sophie Rosalind I bet your hair looked glam once you took the rollers out, no? Yes, it’s the one with capers in, it’s delicious!
@Anonymous Girl Which book is Jamie’s version in, I have a few of his recipe books but I’ve never spotted his version of this dish, I must try it! Hope hubby got back safe and sound and you managed to get some rest.
@Laura Oh honey, you must try not to feel frumpy! I started this very blog as an escape from the drudgery of late pregnancy and it has always been my antidote to the very unglamorous aspects of my life. I hope it can serve you in the same way. Try and remember that motherhood is a great leveller. Every mother, no matter how glam they might seem, has experienced sodden breastpads, baby puke and the wonders of lochia! Gross but true. Besides, you’ll always be a yummy mummy to me!
@Lissylou Ooooooh the vintage fair sounds fun, hope you have a great time!
@The BBB Stunning is def the word! Hope you’re having a relaxing time.
@RMb Wonderful that you got to see your brother. I will def try and post some pics of the new do! The cut isn’t that different but I went a little redder this time, very brave of me! xxx
It in Jamie’s Dinners. I just looked it up and it’s called ‘Working Girl’s Pasta’ x
