Something a little different for you this evening ladies. Isn’t it fabulous! I adore the comment at the end ‘Remember, to be beautiful and natural is a birth right of every woman’.
So, did you all miss me yesterday evening? Were you sick with worry, wondering where your weekly dose of glamour had gotten to?
Well, we made a little trip up to A&E with Jesse as we’d been a touch concerned about his breathing for a couple of days. Izzy was diagnosed with Asthma when she was 3 years old after almost 2 years of displaying classic symptoms. Unfortunately, I noticed recently that Jesse seemed to be following in his big sister’s footsteps… lots of coughing in the middle of the night, wheezing during the day and plenty of laboured breathing. Yesterday morning he seemed to be having to work very hard to get enough air in his lungs, using his tummy muscles to breathe. After they told me he’d been wheezing badly at nursery too I decided to get him looked at.
I have to admit that having been fobbed off by doctor after doctor when Izzy was little, I was ready for a fight. In her case, they only took us seriously when we rushed Izzy up to A&E with a full blown asthma attack. It was one of the scariest experiences of my life and I was not prepared for history to repeat itself with little Jess. I decided I wasn’t leaving the hospital without an inhaler for him. Mr. LA said he could tell I walked into the treatment room with all guns blazing!
Thankfully the Doctor was incredibly helpful and agreed with all my observations. There is a chance that Jesse’s condition is simply a viral wheeze but with the way his symptoms have presented and his family history it seems more likely that he’s asthmatic. Although I’m sad for him, I’m grateful that we’ve been listened to this time and that we’re now in a position to manage his breathing should he get into difficulty. Jesse is used to seeing Izzy take her inhaler everyday so we’ve not had any problems getting him to use his ‘puffer’. I think he quite likes being able to join in with his big sister!
When we eventually made it back from the hospital and had tucked two very sleepy children into bed, we collapsed on the sofa, moving only to answer the door to the takeaway delivery guy!
So it’s clear that my Friday night was far from glamorous! Any glam happenings down your way ladies?

Poor litte Jesse 🙁 Im glad they listened to you at the hospital though, well done for standing your ground. I’m sure you made A&E look more glamourous than the normal riff raft that are no doubt there of a Friday night, lol!
I had a TERRIBLE night with Jamie, he was being a fussy feeder, wouldn’t settle and I cried as much as him I think…I know some nights aren’t going to be as good as most though…just hope I get sleep tonight!

Aww, poor little thing! Good for you, going in there and getting everything sorted out just right!
And thanks for the absolutely marvelous video! I’m loving it!
Poor Jesse. I’m glad he’s ok. We just had the worst night ever with Finn, he would not settle and wanted feeding about every 5 minutes. x
@Laura Jesse is fine really, I so glad they took us seriously. Hopefully he’ll grow out of it. I keep wishing that for Izzy too.
I hope you had abetter night last night with the little man. The sleep deprivation has to be the hardest part I reckon. You only need one awful night to leave you feeling half dead, and of course you have little or no opportunity to catch up. Big hugs lovely, it doesn’t last forever.
@Casee Marie I’m glad you enjoyed the video, I adore it too! Imagine having someone to draw your bath for you in the morning!!
@Anonymous Girl You poor, poor thing. It’s so tiring when they’re like that. Probably a growth spurt I suppose. I haven’t forgotten about emailing you, weekend has just been a little manic. I’ve been thinking about you though, and hopefuly sending some good vibes your way!!

Most of my family had bad asthma as children. Thankfully it’s a condition that a lot of children grow out of – hopefully yours will too!
