- Waking to the sound of the children creeping downstairs to find my sister Nicola and her boyfriend Andrew. Only the second guests we’ve received since moving, their arrival late on Friday night was the source of great excitement.
- Enjoying our warm, cosy bed for five more minutes.
- Chatting at the dining table while the children watched Netflix on Nicola’s Ipad.
- Waking up slowly.

- Showing Nicola and Andrew some of Bristol’s street art.
- Wandering around the harbourside market.
- Crossing Pero’s Bridge and walking along the cobbled path that leads to the Arnolfini.
- Watching the children participate in The Big Draw. The theme was ‘families of the future’ and Jesse especially enjoyed creating his plastic bottle robot.
- Flicking through beautiful books in the gallery shop.
- Walking back outside into great gusts of wind.
- Wending our way back to Cabot Circus via the Old City {already established as one of my favourite corners of our new home}.
- Nipping into H&M to buy Izzy a hoody.
- Feeling as if I’d been transported back to Tammy Girl c.1995. The rails were full of clothes I begged my mother to let me wear aged 13.

- Making it home just as the heavens opened.
- Inhaling the incredible scent of our dinner cooking away in the oven.
- Curling up on the sofa with a mug of tea.

- Having a lazy morning in my PJs, chatting to Nicola and slowly preparing Sunday dinner.
- Feeling content.
- Desperately trying to get to grips with our new oven. Nothing was cooked when it should have been!
- Listening to the children play an elaborate game with toy animals and a castle fashioned from duplo.
- Tucking into roast chicken and all the trimmings followed by Marmalade Pudding Cake with lashings of custard.
- Eating too much.
- Having stern words with Jesse. His behaviour left a lot to be desired this weekend. Good thing he’s so bloomin’ cute.
- Saying goodbye to our guests.
- Clearing the kitchen and catching up on laundry.
- Helping Izzy with her half term homework.
- Hanging a few pretty things on the wall. We’re slowly getting there with the old DIY.
- Watching the children demolish cheese on toast for supper.
- Wrestling them into the bath, reading bedtime stories and giving goodnight kisses.
- Tapping away on my laptop while Izzy read White Boots. I’m so happy she’s finally discovered Noel Streatfield.
- Eating leftover Chinese take away and indulging in a cheeky glass of wine.
- Looking forward to an evening on the sofa in front of a film and possibly a long soak in the bath.
