So, the good news is that towards the end of last week the university finally let me know that they had accepted my new application. Phew! I really didn’t have a ‘Plan B’ so I was very, very relieved! I’m a little terrified at the thought of studying English for the first time in, erm… about 5 years, but I’m desperately trying to have faith in my academic abilities and believe that it will all be OK.

What better way is there to celebrate such good news than stopping by the Chanel counter? I had a Debenhams voucher burning a hole in my pocket and I’d set my heart on picking up another Rouge Allure lippy in the shade ‘Lover’ (which was featured in a recent Pixiwoo video… gorgeous shade of red).

My face fell when the sales assistant informed me that it was out of stock but I was instantly filled with glee when I recalled another product that I’d been lusting after ever since reading about it on Temptalia.

Without further ado, let me introduce you to my first Rouge Allure Laque in the shade ‘Dragon’. She’s my new best friend.I suppose the best way to describe this is as a liquid lipstick. It has a sponge-tipped applicator and the product glides onto my lips beautifully. The finish is stunning and I adore the depth the colour has on my lips.

This lipstick isn’t so much glossy as glowy, the colour is just so vibrant. Opaque with one swipe, it has great staying power and fades to a nice even stain. Although I wouldn’t describe it as hydrating, this didn’t leave my lips anywhere near as dry as I would have expected from such a pigmented product.

A couple of swatches in natural light…And here it is (with flash) on my face (so to speak)…My e/s was nothing of note (MAC Shroom and all the matte shades from the Sleek Storm palette) but I just thought the last image really captured the glow you get from this lipstick. It’s gorgeous!

I wore this today and I felt fabulous despite the fact I was stuck indoors caring for a very snotty toddler. I can honestly say that if someone asked me to bottle glamour, this is what it would look like.

I’m on a mission to find the perfect shade of red lippy for my wedding day (sorry folks, no neutral wedding make-up for me) and this is certainly a strong contender. In the meantime, I’ll be wearing it while I’m hunched over my books in the library!

What do you think ladies, tempted by Dragon? Anyone else starting university next week?
