- Trying to remain positive.
- Feeling grateful for my incredibly supportive friends and family.
- Making M&M pancakes much to Izzy’s delight.
- Falling in love with my fiancee just a teensy bit more. He really is the most amazing man.
- Eating an indoor picnic.
- Taking the children to the park in the chilly autumnal sunshine.
- Drinking a little too much wine. For its medicinal properties you understand.
- Not sleeping very well at all.
- Loving the new Christmas products from Lush.
- Cooking and eating an enormous bowl of spaghetti.
- Snuggling on the sofa and watching more of Dexter Season 2.
- Sleeping in while Mr. LA watched Peppa Pig with the children.
- Drinking lots of tea.
- Thinking about this. Do you, or could you, leave the house without make-up on?
- Madly cleaning the house in preparation for our visitors.
- Wondering why I ever stopped using Estee Lauder Idealist serum. I picked up a new bottle on Friday (thank you Boots advantage card!) and it really is amazing stuff.
- Meeting my Grandmother and her 2 friends at the bus station.
- Eating a delicious Sunday lunch at our local Weatherspoons pub. Mmmmmm!
- Feeling very proud of how well behaved the children were. They really did us proud and passed the Great Gran test with flying colours!
- Enjoying some M&S chocolate eclairs.
- Colouring with Izzy.
- Having baking withdrawal symptoms.
- Cooking macaroni cheese.
- Giving Jesse lots of cuddles and kisses. My boy is ridiculously affectionate, I love it!
- Helping Izzy with her maths homework. Yes, she’s 5 and she has maths homework! I’m not sure who I was more proud of, her for doing it or me for managing to help her. Maths is not my forte!
- Reading bedtime stories a plenty (a little Beatrix Potter followed by ‘Each Peach Pear Plum’) and then putting the children to bed.
- Hunting down all the paperwork for this new funding application. The amount of evidence and explanation we have to provide actually feels like an invasion of privacy.
- Trying to relax.
- Wanting to believe that everything is going to be OK.

you know what? even though i don’t know you personally, i really believe that you are amazing! your children are beautiful & your fiancee sounds wonderful (though not as beautiful & wonderful as my daughter & husband, hehehe). i hope -no; i believe that everything will shake out & be okay. hang in there!!
ps. i’ve heard great things about peppa pig, but we don’t have it available in the US. i’m totally bummed about it. i will point out that we have shaun the sheep though (and thank god!). i hope you’re doing well. 🙂
@RMb Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I’m not sure I’m amzing but I try!! I do hope you’re right, I’m going in this morning to kick some ass (!) so fingers crossed.
And how can you not have Peppa Pig, my 2 adore it and it’s nowhere near as painful as some of the rubbish on telly! If you ever fancy doing an international swap I’d be happy to send a little something over for the Bean, you can pick up Peppa dvds very cheaply here.

i would love to do a dvd swap! are there any american tv shows for your kids you’d like (or anything for yourself)? if you want to email me (speedxtrials at gmail dot com) & let me know the details that would be great!
Bit late commenting in this, but your weekend sounds fabulous…and look, it all worked out in the end, even if not exactly how you’d imagined, but the important thing is, you got there!!
I agree with RMB 100%, you’re amazing 🙂 xxx
