- Sleeping in.
- Snuggling on the sofa with the children.
- Sipping tea.
- Enjoying the scents emanating from the kitchen as Mr. LA made bacon and eggs for breakfast.
- Relishing a lazy morning. Life has been pretty full on of late, so it was wonderful to shower slowly, take my time getting dressed and generally feel no need to rush.
- Preparing a summery lunch. Fried halloumi with lime and caper viniagrette served with new potatoes and a huge salad.
- Smothering the children in sun cream.
- Strolling slowly into town to pick up a few essentials {beer and dishwasher tablets, obvioulsy}.
- Heading to Jesse’s preschool barbecue.
- Watching the children jump about on the bouncy castle.
- Chatting to Fiona in the sunshine.
- Queuing for food.
- Sitting quietly in the shade while the children devoured their hotdogs and burgers.
- Wandering home as the sun’s heat began to ease a little and the children started to succumb to tiredness.
- Washing berries and whipping cream.
- Eating pudding in the dining room before coaxing the children into the bath.
- Reading bedtime stories and giving goodnight kisses.
- Drinking Spanish beer from the bottle.
- Eating pretzels and watching a {disappointing} movie.
- Retiring to bed with my Kindle.
- Falling asleep to the sounds of a summer’s night drifting in through our bedroom window.
- Waking up next to Jesse.
- Huddling and cuddling for a good hour before we finally made our way downstairs.
- Smiling as I received a text from my Mum telling me she had passed her Msc after years of studing part time with the Open University. She really is the original Super Mum and a huge inspiration to me.
- Grabbing a quick breakfast while the childen got dressed and washed.
- Walking to the swimming pool in the early morning light.
- Enjoying the gentle breeze.
- Exhausting ourselves in the pool.
- Coralling the children into the changing rooms and persuading them into dry clothes.
- Taking a long shower at home.
- Making a start on a huge celebratory lunch for my Mum. I made Chicken with 100 Cloves of Garlic served with tagliatelle and a green salad followed by grilled peaches with amaretti crumble. It was delicious, even if I do say so myself.
- Hugging my Mum.
- Popping some bubbly.
- Sitting on the front step and chatting in the sunshine.
- Eating too much.
- Sweating garlic. Impossible not to really.
- Leaving Mr. LA to clear up while we all walked to the park.
- Loving the sight of Izzy hanging from the monkey bars.
- Taking my turn on the see saw.
- Retreating back to the house.
- Saying our goodbyes.
- Collapsing on the sofa for a while.
- Resting my eyes 😉
- Preparing a light supper.
- Putting two very sleepy children to bed.
- Sipping the last of the prosecco while I write this post.
