- Slipping on a pretty polka dot dress and a pair of sandals.
- Persuading the children to apply suncream.
- Walking into town for a spot of present buying.
- Loving the feel of warm sun on my skin.
- Heading to Exeter Respect.
- Wandering from stall to stall and soaking up the sights and sounds of the festival.
- Watching Jesse leap about on the bouncy castle.
- Buying lunch and sitting on the grass to eat.
- Treating the children to an ice cream each.
- Listening to riddles, poems and songs in the World Storytelling Tent.
- Smiling when both my children volunteered stories of their own.
- Walking home slowly.
- Sitting on the front step and watching the children play outside.
- Daydreaming about our new garden.
- Catching up on a little work while the children watched a DVD.
- Sending Izzy off to a birthday sleepover.
- Preparing falafel burgers and fried halloumi for supper.
- Putting an exhausted Jesse to bed. It’s amazing how warm weather really tires little ones out.
- Sitting down with a glass of wine and some nibbles.
- Watching a documentary about The Shining called Room 237. Fascinating stuff and a must watch if you’re a fan of Kubrick’s movie.
- Realising my little boy is 4 years old in two weeks. FOUR.
- Trying not to panic about planning a party in under a fortnight.
- Climbing into bed and falling asleep to the sound of the radio.
- Waking up in my husband’s arms.
- Hiding under the duvet.
- Shouting ‘BOO’ loudly as Jesse ambled into our bedroom.
- Giggling.
- Enjoying some cuddles with my boy while Mr. LA made tea and coffee.
- Curling up on the sofa to watch The Rescuers.
- Eating marmite on toast.
- Showering and getting dressed in turned-up jeans and a Breton tee.
- Loving Topshop’s cream blush in ‘Neon Rose’.
- Twisting my damp hair into a bun so it would fall into soft, beachy waves once dry.
- Wishing Mr. LA didn’t have to work on a Sunday.
- Walking through town in the sunshine to collect Izzy.
- Picking up a fresh supply of felt pens and some sweet treats on the way home.
- Making sandwiches for lunch.
- Laying out paper and watching the children draw and colour for most of the afternoon.
- Hanging the washing outside to dry in the sunshine.
- Chasing the children on the street outside.
- Smiling as Izzy dragged me to the bottom of our road because she’d found ‘my favourite flowers’. I’ve no idea how I failed to notice our neighbour’s impressive wisteria before now. Simply beautiful. I’ve asked Mr. LA to plant one for me in our new home.
- Watching Up and browsing interior design blogs. Currently obsessed with Swoon Worthy.
- Marinading the salmon for fish tacos. Definitely my new favourite meal.
- Heating up the griddle pan once Mr. LA arrived home.
- Enjoying every mouthful of my supper.
- Bathing the children.
- Sorting the day’s laundry.
- Listening to Mr.LA read Jesse a bedtime story.
- Giving goodnight kisses.
- Sitting quietly at my laptop while Izzy lies on our bed to read.
