The Weekend The WeekendThe Weekend The Weekend The WeekendThe Weekend The Weekend

  • Sleeping in.
  • Eating scrambled eggs on toast and sipping tea.
  • Debating whether to go to the coast or not.
  • Taking a long, lazy shower.
  • Painting my nails with my favourite summer polish, Revlon ‘One Perfect Coral’.
  • Slipping on a pretty polka dot dress and a pair of sandals.
  • Persuading the children to apply suncream.
  • Walking into town for a spot of present buying.
  • Loving the feel of warm sun on my skin.
  • Heading to Exeter Respect.
  • Wandering from stall to stall and soaking up the sights and sounds of the festival.
  • Watching Jesse leap about on the bouncy castle.
  • Buying lunch and sitting on the grass to eat.
  • Treating the children to an ice cream each.
  • Listening to riddles, poems and songs in the World Storytelling Tent.
  • Smiling when both my children volunteered stories of their own.
  • Walking home slowly.
  • Sitting on the front step and watching the children play outside.
  • Daydreaming about our new garden.
  • Catching up on a little work while the children watched a DVD.
  • Sending Izzy off to a birthday sleepover.
  • Preparing falafel burgers and fried halloumi for supper.
  • Putting an exhausted Jesse to bed. It’s amazing how warm weather really tires little ones out.
  • Sitting down with a glass of wine and some nibbles.
  • Watching a documentary about The Shining called Room 237. Fascinating stuff and a must watch if you’re a fan of Kubrick’s movie.
  • Realising my little boy is 4 years old in two weeks. FOUR.
  • Trying not to panic about planning a party in under a fortnight.
  • Climbing into bed and falling asleep to the sound of the radio.
  • Waking up in my husband’s arms.
  • Hiding under the duvet.
  • Shouting ‘BOO’ loudly as Jesse ambled into our bedroom.
  • Giggling.
  • Enjoying some cuddles with my boy while Mr. LA made tea and coffee.
  • Curling up on the sofa to watch The Rescuers.
  • Eating marmite on toast.
  • Showering and getting dressed in turned-up jeans and a Breton tee.
  • Loving Topshop’s cream blush in ‘Neon Rose’.
  • Twisting my damp hair into a bun so it would fall into soft, beachy waves once dry.
  • Wishing Mr. LA didn’t have to work on a Sunday.
  • Walking through town in the sunshine to collect Izzy.
  • Picking up a fresh supply of felt pens and some sweet treats on the way home.
  • Making sandwiches for lunch.
  • Laying out paper and watching the children draw and colour for most of the afternoon.
  • Hanging the washing outside to dry in the sunshine.
  • Chasing the children on the street outside.
  • Smiling as Izzy dragged me to the bottom of our road because she’d found ‘my favourite flowers’. I’ve no idea how I failed to notice our neighbour’s impressive wisteria before now. Simply beautiful. I’ve asked Mr. LA to plant one for me in our new home.
  • Watching Up and browsing interior design blogs. Currently obsessed with Swoon Worthy.
  • Marinading the salmon for fish tacos. Definitely my new favourite meal.
  • Heating up the griddle pan once Mr. LA arrived home.
  • Enjoying every mouthful of my supper.
  • Bathing the children.
  • Sorting the day’s laundry.
  • Listening to Mr.LA read Jesse a bedtime story.
  • Giving goodnight kisses.
  • Sitting quietly at my laptop while Izzy lies on our bed to read.
