No… not that kind of inappropriate. Tsk, tsk, you filthy bloggers 😉
So, it’s currently freezing here in the UK. Although we still haven’t had a single flake of snow down our way, it’s certainly colder than my poorly insulated frame can handle. A quick glance at my wardrobe over the weekend confirmed my worst fears… I’m completely unprepared for a ‘cold snap’. I needs me some jumpers. STAT.
A frantic shopping trip on Sunday afternoon did result in some baggage…… but after a mammoth trying-on session back at the homestead (I don’t do changing rooms) most of it is going back.
I did decide to keep one item though. This thick, snuggly, practically thermal… 100% silk dress.
Yea, I’m joking. Not even an ounce of insulation in this garment. What was I thinking?
But it’s sooooo pretty. Here look at the swallow, and the beautiful shade of blue silk which hangs so very perfectly, yet all the while nipping me in and showing off my waist…*sigh* I love it. Mr. LA told me to keep it because I did that thing where I look in the mirror and grin like an idiot because, you know, I actually like what I see. Doesn’t happen very often apparently.
Layers. That’s what I need. Layers.
How would you stay warm in this frock? Have you managed to find any cozy jumpers on the high street?

wow what a stunning dress. that will look lovely on you! i would wear it with red lipstick, defiantly bare legs, cashmere socks and high heels, and demand to be driven (as near to the door as possible) to & from a pub with a fire. screw winter! xxx
Hahahha! Sophie, you’re a girl after my own heart!! Screw winter indeed!!

Ahhhh but silk is very warm – they make mountain climbers undies out of it. My warmest jumper is my thin (practically see thru) silk and cashmere LK Bennett thing of beauty!!
Screw winter indeed!! Marks and Spencer thermal tights. Sexier than they sound!!
Gosh that dress is dreamy, I can understand why it’s a keeper! I’d wear a nice chunky grey cardigan over it to contrast with the light feminine feel of the frock xx
Ha! Thermal indeed. But it’s so pretty! Do keep it. It would be rather cute with an oversized fisherman’s sweater – I’m thinking something along the lines of Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley in The Edge of Love? But then, a big cardi would take away from the nipping at the waist thing. Sigh. Work with us, winter!
Oh, I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t do changing rooms. Definitely not a fan!
@m4dswine Thermal tights you say? I’m on it!
@arlene I’m on the hunt for a grey cardi but I’m being my usual fussy self and struggling to find one the right shade of grey!!
@Casee Marie It is pretty isn’t it! I love your suggestion, I could alwyas belt the cardi perhaps. Changing rooms are pure evil, I avoid them like the plague!!

It may be inappropriate for the climate, but who says you can’t be wonderfully dressed and stylish in this weather! I’m not, but YOU can be, hehe! xxx
