  • Waking up slowly.
  • Wishing Mr. LA didn’t have to work.
  • Making the children scrambled eggs, veggie sausages and beans for breakfast.
  • Letting the DVD player babysit while I took a shower and got dressed.
  • Preparing a huge bowl of Orzo and Tomato salad with Izzy.
  • Packing the inaugural picnic of 2013 and heading across the road to the park.
  • Spreading out our bright yellow blanket and getting comfy in the sunshine.
  • Picking at picnic food and finishing Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald. Amazing. A must-read for all Jazz Age/Gatsby enthusiasts.
  • Watching the children play.
  • Wandering home slowly.
  • Cooking Mexican Lasagna.
  • Dishing up just as Mr. LA arrived home.
  • Putting the children to bed.
  • Drinking wine and blogging.
  • Watching an episode of Heroes on Netflix. We’re a bit unimpressed with this series unfortunately. We expected great things, but perhaps it’s impossible for anything to be considered excellent post-Breaking Bad?
  • Reading he first chapter of Rules of Civility before I fell asleep.
  • Waking up to cuddles from the children.
  • Getting ready for another morning of solo parenting only to find Mr. LA’s shoot was cancelled.
  • Celebrating four years of Love Audrey.
  • Dropping Izzy at her drama class and strolling into town.
  • Waiting for the bookshop to open.
  • Buying book-shaped gifts and mentally adding titles to my own literary wish list.
  • Getting our drinks ‘to go’ in Starbucks.
  • Sitting on Cathedral Green in the sun.
  • Walking home slowly and admiring the landmarks we passed on the way.
  • Laughing at Jesse’s current obsession with being a statue. The urge to stand motionless at the side of the road can strike at any time and he can stay ‘in character’ for quite a while!
  • Making fried halloumi with lime and caper vinaigrette for lunch.
  • Collecting Izzy and almost immediately packing her off to a sleepover at a friend’s house.
  • Spending the afternoon in the park.
  • Eating ice creams.
  • Preparing Italian Roast Chicken with Peppers and Olives for dinner.
  • Reading Jesse a bedtime story and kissing him goodnight.
  • Finally watching The Impossible. While the film was incredibly moving and brilliantly made, I was left a little disappointed by the fact Thai people are largely invisible in the movie. We visited Khao Lak {where the film is set} in 2008 and we were deeply moved by the stories some of the locals told us. I think I was hoping for a balanced portrayal, but it’s very Western-centric.
  • Falling asleep to the sound of the radio playing.
  • Sleeping in.
  • Treating Jesse to breakfast at Bills.
  • Very much enjoying my poached egg royale. Smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce is my idea of heaven.
  • Watching Jesse colour.
  • Picking up a DVD and heading home.
  • Curling up on the sofa to watch a film. It wasn’t anywhere near as warm in Exeter today, so we didn’t feel guilty about having a lazy day indoors.
  • Listing ALL THE THINGS on Ebay. The huge pre-move purge has commenced, so why not grab yourself a bargain?!
  • Almost loosing the will to live while listing ALL THE THINGS on Ebay. Seriously, it took both of us all afternoon to make it to the bottom of the pile!
  • Welcoming home a very tired Izzy.
  • Eating macaroni cheese.
  • Listening to Mr. LA bath the children.
  • Coping with an epic meltdown from Izzy.
  • Tucking Jesse in to bed while she calmed down.
  • Having ‘words’ and making up with cuddles.
  • Looking forward to lounging on the sofa a little before collapsing into bed.

Love Audrey xxx
