  • Waking up before everyone else.
  • Making myself a cup of tea and slipping into the shower.
  • Pulling on a favourite dress.
  • Cuddling Jesse on my lap after he wandered into our bedroom. I love sharing the first few sleepy moments of his day.
  • Panicking about making our train at 10.15am. We also had to leave the house in a fit state for the viewings booked in that afternoon.
  • Hurriedly getting everyone fed and dressed.
  • Cleaning the bath.
  • Being ready to go a whole hour before our taxi was due to arrive. Typical.
  • Trying to ensure the children didn’t re-make their mess before we left.
  • Heading to the station.
  • Loving Jesse’s enthusiasm for train travel.
  • Chuckling as he insisted on looking through his binoculars the wrong way.
  • Boarding the train to Chippenham.
  • Munching on mini cheddars and sipping diet coke.
  • Being met by my Mum.
  • Driving to Bowood House. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. The gardens are beautiful and the children were blown away by the adventure playground.
  • Greeting my family with hugs and smiles. We had all gathered together to celebrate my uncle’s 60th birthday.
  • Enjoying the sunshine.
  • Eating delicious food and indulging in a cheeky glass of wine.
  • Wandering the grounds.
  • Posing for plenty of family photos.
  • Watching the children traverse the huge climbing frame and slip down the enormous slides.
  • Taking a call from our estate agent.
  • ACCEPTING AN OFFER ON OUR HOUSE!
  • Doing a happy dance as my family looked on in amusement.
  • Hugging Mr.LA and feeling very, very excited/scared.
  • Taking Jesse to look at the animals. He loved stroking a lamb and looking at tiny chicks in an incubator.
  • Treating the children to ice creams.
  • Feeling very grateful for my family.
  • Missing my Dad.
  • Sitting in the soft play area.
  • Craving a nap.
  • Driving back to my aunt and uncle’s house for afternoon tea.
  • Eating tiny crust-less sandwiches, chocolate cupcakes and a scone loaded with jam and clotted cream.
  • Singing happy birthday.
  • Deciding the children were ready for bed.
  • Staying with friend’s at their huge house in Calne.
  • Struggling to get the children to settle.
  • Drinking wine and chatting until sleep got the better of me.
  • Being woken up too early.
  • Hanging out in the kitchen with my Mum, sister and our host.
  • Warming my bottom in front of the Aga.
  • Watching Jesse play shadow to the cat. I think he fell in love a little bit. I was proud of how gentle and affectionate he was.
  • Drinking lots of tea and eating posh granola for breakfast.
  • Getting washed and dressed.
  • Packing up and driving to the station.
  • Killing time between trains in Bristol.
  • Eating a cheese and mushroom pasty on the platform.
  • Feeling relieved to be home.
  • Realising it probably won’t be home for much longer.
  • Putting two very sleepy children to bed.
  • Planning an evening filled with wine, dirty takeaway food and Rightmove. Operation ‘find our dream house’ is well underway!
