I don’t really have a coherent image of what the tables will look like at the wedding. That said, I’m leaning towards hiring some vintage candelabras from Idyllic Days and surrounding them with flowers and votive candles.
I also love the idea of using luggage tags as place cards, perhaps tied to napkins or the backs of chairs with pretty ribbon. I was daydreaming about writing romantic movie quotes on the back of them too (My favourite – “No, I don’t think I will kiss you, although you need kissing, badly. That’s what’s wrong with you. You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how.” Rhett to Scarlett in Gone With the Wind). We decided a long time ago that we’d name the tables after locations from our favourite movies… so we’ll have things like ‘Tiffany’s’ (I don’t need to explain this one, do I?), Arkham Asylum (Batman), Middlesex Highschool (Donnie Darko) and ‘1537 Paper Street’ (Fight Club).
In terms of florals, I know I don’t want anything too structured. I’d prefer blooms with a soft, blousey look. Most of the flowers I love that would work well are out of season in January (peonies and hydrangeas would be perfect) so I’m going to be open to suggestions from my wonderful florist friend Hayley (and you of course)!
I love these images … (see the full post here, so very beautiful)

This is pretty too. I love the ‘Just Married’ sign… we could have something like that hanging from the cake table perhaps?

I also find myself inexplicably drawn to anything that features handmade pinwheels…

And these votives are satisfying my current obsession with all things lace…

Pretty, no? How did you/would you decorate the tables at your wedding reception? Did you have quirky table names or did you play it safe with numbers?

Eeee! Lovely. I really love those colours and the film names for the tables is inspired!
My SIL and I are starting up a bunting business, and we could make some “Just Married” bunting for you, out of any fabric you like! I’ve even found some gorgeous vintage napkins I’m planning on turning into bunting.
drop me an email at [email protected] if you’re interested!
Aww I love Gone With the Wind! I used to watch it with my nana (when she was here) and eat Cadbury’s wholenut chocolate on the sofa. Bless her.
I love your ideas for table decorations. I especially like the hydrangeas x
Beautiful inspiration! I love the table names – so original!
@Sam Ooooo I’m so glad you like the table name idea (some of my friends have responded with bemused looks) and I LOVE the sound of your bunting business. The budget for decor is pretty tight but I’ll def drop you an email at some point.
@LaurenLoves I ADORE GWTW! What a wonderful memory to have of your nana (I was addicted to Cadbury’s wholenut when I was pregnant with Jesse!!) I love hydrangeas too but they’re def not going to be in season for our Jan wedding so I’ll have to think of something even prettier!!
@Heather Thank you lovely!

Sooooooooooooooo pretty.
Love the idea of naming the tables, and especially love the idea luggage tags for names – the quote on the back is a nice touch. Those are the type of things I take home from a wedding as a keepsake of the day. Lovely 🙂
