• Being woken up by the children a little earlier than I would have liked.
  • Madly tidying the house in preparation for a toddler invasion.
  • Doing some last minute baking. I make mini chocolate orange muffins at every birthday party and they always prove very popular.
  • Blowing up balloons.
  • Giving the dining room a Toy Story make-over.
  • Making sandwiches
  • Putting together the obligatory token healthy food option for the party spread. Got to keep those neurotic parents happy.
  • Choosing to ignore the weather forecast and wear my sandals and summer dress anyway. It rained. I didn’t care.
  • Loving that Mr. LA recognised my dress was the very one I was wearing when he proposed almost a year ago.
  • Hugging my sister and my best friend when they arrived from London.
  • Watching Jesse’s godfather inflate the paddling pool and fill it with 100s of plastic balls. Who needs party games when you have a ball pond!
  • Greeting parents and children.
  • Marveling at just how much noise 4 toddlers can make.
  • Singing happy birthday and helping Jesse blow out his candles.
  • Distributing party bags.
  • Helping Jesse unwrap his presents. Well, at least I tried to. Strange child was more interested in the cards than the gifts. My sister gave him a Thomas the Tank Engine one and he walked off with it for ages and refused to tear a single piece of wrapping paper. What’s that all about?
  • Embarking on a massive tidy-up.
  • Drinking wine. Lots of wine.
  • Watching an episode of Gossip Girl.
  • Wishing I was Blair Waldorf. Minus the bitchiness. Maybe.
  • Loving the children for sleeping in.
  • Loving Laura’s new blog. Yes, she of Lollipop26 fame, is back. This pleases me. I am so grateful to Kelanjo for filling us all in.
  • Attempting to make a dent in the endless list of household chores. Boring.
  • Cooking and eating french toast.
  • Drinking tea.
  • Cooking and eating spinach and feta filo pie for lunch.
  • Eating leftover cake.
  • Marvelling at how much food I can consume in one day.
  • Really needing a soak in the tub and an early night. I might manage it. Maybe.
