Love Audrey UK Lifestyle Blog May Weekend
  • Waking up earlier than I would have liked. Izzy had to be ready for a Guide trip to Legoland Windsor.
  • Sipping tea while Jesse watched TV.
  • Seeing Izzy off at the door.
  • Slowly getting ready to face the day.
  • Coaxing Jesse into his clothes.
  • Heading out for breakfast.
  • Tucking into poached eggs smothered in hollandaise sauce at The Lock Up.
  • Buying houseplants from The Red Flower Barrow. I wasn’t joking about filling the house with lots more greenery!
  • Strolling home via the park.
  • Feeling unwell.
  • Resting on the sofa with a mug of tea.
  • Dealing with a leak in the laundry room.
  • Mopping up water and organising cupboards.
  • Transforming an old terracotta pot with a coat of Farrow & Ball’s Hague Blue. I knew all those tester pots of paint would come in handy one day.
  • Sneaking in a little bit of work while Mr L.A. looked after Jesse downstairs.
  • Watching the boys play a game of Pokemon.
  • Meal planning and ordering groceries online.
  • Mixing up a Mexican bean salad {roughly based on this recipe}.
  • Preparing fish tacos for dinner.
  • Craving a cocktail.
  • Sipping an Alligator Cooler.
  • Waiting for Izzy to arrive home.
  • Forcing down some food. My appetite is a little non-existent at the moment.
  • Giving goodnight kisses and tucking the kids in for the night.
  • Watching The Big Lebowski.
  • Collapsing into bed.
  • Waking up earlier than I would have liked. Again.
  • Creeping downstairs to find Mr L.A.
  • Wishing he didn’t have to go away.
  • Wondering where I’m going to find the energy for five days of solo parenting while he’s in Norway.
  • Seeing him off at the door.
  • Snuggling with Jesse on the sofa.
  • Watching him build the little Lego kit Izzy had given him.
  • Accepting our Ocado delivery.
  • Putting groceries away and making breakfast.
  • Wrestling with Izzy’s bad mood and deciding we could all use a PJ day.
  • Pottering in the kitchen while the kids watched cartoons.
  • Ordering a few plants for the yarden.
  • Reheating leftovers for lunch.
  • Eating outside in the sunshine.
  • Supervising the kids while they made Rachel Roddy’s Italian Soft Almond Biscuits. Such a simple, delicious recipe. If you’re a fan of my beloved Snickerdoodles, I’d definitely suggest giving these a whirl. The flavours are very different, but they’re equally moreish and easy to make.
  • Making the beds and looking forward to clean sheets at the end of the day.
  • Feeling sleepy.
  • Sitting down to watch the first episode of Anne With An E on Netflix.
  • Resolving to re-read Anne of Green Gables at the first available opportunity.
  • Cooking and eating Oven-Baked Asparagus with Eggs.
  • Cleaning the kitchen floor while the children showered.
  • Tidying the living room.
  • Listening to Fleetwood Mac and enjoying the early evening light.
  • Letting the kids watch a little TV before bed.
  • Tapping away at my laptop.
  • Planning a long soak in the bath followed by an early night.
  • Keeping my fingers crossed for an easy week with minimal CFS symptoms.
